Healthy panther urates are bright white with a small black faecal cap. Orange or yellow urates mean the kidneys are concentrating waste — a hydration signal, not always an emergency, but always something to fix. Sunken eyes (the orbits visibly recede) and wrinkled skin around the casque are both late signs; do not wait that long.
First response: increase mister duration by 30 seconds for each cycle, add a midday short cycle if you are not running one, verify the dripper is actually dripping, and watch for two days. If urates do not return to white inside 72 hours, book a vet appointment — sustained dehydration without a clear cause warrants a basic blood panel.
