Sex determination — usually clear by four months.

Tarsal spurs on the male's hind feet appear by month three to four. By six months, sex is unambiguous in almost all panthers.

Sex determination — usually clear by four months.

Panther chameleons are sexually dimorphic and the differentiation usually appears clearly by month four. Males develop tarsal spurs (small bumps on the back of the hind feet near the heel) by month three to four. By six months, additional differences emerge: males develop more pronounced casque growth, slightly larger body size, and earlier color development.

If you bought a juvenile sold as 'unsexed' under three months, expect to wait until four to confirm. Honest breeders will refund or exchange if the sex turns out different than promised — within reason and time-bound. By month six, any reputable breeder should be able to verify sex with high confidence.
